This very special 1 owner from new HG GTS Monaro 186s has a very interesting history in that this car was stolen in 2005 from the owners from their home in Springvale Victoria and because of the cars history being a 1 family owner from new and period correct untouched the news made the media and the media ran with the story making every Vic and national newspapers and press making the Monaro and Mrs Goldsworthy the owners a public/celebrity back in 2005. With much help from both newspapers and radio in particular 3AW brought the story to public life and as a result of the car being found and returned to the family they didn't have the money to restore the car back after being stolen and the car was not insured sadly, which created a massive public push for helping the family put the Monaro back together. As result GM/Holden and Rare Spares stepped in and all worked together to bring the Monaro back to life and to her original beautiful self. Sadly the original 186s engine was stolen along with many others parts so with a period correct 186 engine replaced and the whole car correctly put back together for the family with all supporting documentation including news paper articles and letters from Rare Spares of the car and owners come with the sale for her authenticity and assured values in the future, the good thing was the car was not damaged or smashed in anyway just stripped and dumped BUT most importantly her id tags and plates are still on the car and were not stolen. There were no upgrades or modifications done to the Monaro when restored and she is period correct in everyway including her original floor shift 4 speed manual. The interior is period correct with only change a radio cassette player from the 80's and overall the cabin presents fantastic throughout with factory steering wheel and full black carpets and door cards with her period correct hubcaps and badging as she was when new. completes her exterior stance. The massive bonus is she comes with her original sales book and manuals showing the first and only owner and over all this great honest period correct HG Monaro is a fantastic piece of Aussie muscle car history and is ready to be enjoyed and driven by her next custodian wanting a clean straight and great Monaro.
