We are proud to offer what is undoubtedly one of the most significant and collectible HSV vehicles ever created with this the actual HSV Colorado SportsCat V8 Prototype, Chassis E001, and what plated as and many enthusiasts regard as "The Real Last HSV V8." Developed in secrecy by HSV Walkinshaw Performance between 2016 and 2020, the SportsCat V8 project was designed to become Australia's ultimate performance dual-cab ute. Combining HSV performance engineering with genuine V8 power, the program was intended for production before Holden's withdrawal from Australia ultimately brought the project to an end. This vehicle is the actual prototype, launch car, and media vehicle used by HSV and Walkinshaw to unveil the program to the Australian motoring press. Every major article, video, and media release surrounding the SportsCat V8 centred around this very vehicle, making it a true piece of Australian motoring history.
A genuine 1 of 1, Chassis E001 has been owned by a serious HSV collector and is now being offered publicly for the first time. Included in the sale are the famous Victorian promotional plates "SV8CAT", which were used throughout the vehicle's media campaign and are an important part of its provenance. Power comes from the legendary 6.2L Chevrolet LT1 V8, producing 350kW and 650Nm, paired to a sophisticated 10-speed automatic transmission and 4WD system incorporating Silverado transfer case technology. Capable of 0–100km/h in under 5 seconds, it was set to become the most powerful and fastest HSV dual-cab ever produced in Australia.
