Don't let the kilometres put you off. This is a car built to do exactly what it's doing now, 190,000kms in and still looking, sounding and driving as it should. AMG built these things like a tank, and this one proves it - genuinely long-lasting German engineering, not a car that starts falling apart the moment the odometer gets uncomfortable.

Under the bonnet is the 5.4 litre M113 V8, hand-assembled at AMG's Affalterbach facility by a single technician whose signature appears on a plaque bolted to the engine itself - a genuine one man, one engine build. 342hp and 510Nm of torque, sent through a 5-speed automatic, made this the fastest production Mercedes in the world when new. It doesn't rev like a modern AMG, it just shoves - big, unstressed, naturally aspirated torque the way AMG used to build it, and these engines have earned a genuine reputation as bombproof when properly maintained. Mercedes even ran a factory CLK 55 as a rally safety car in period, with motorcycle legend Mick Doohan behind the wheel at Targa Tasmania - these things were built to work hard.

New Zealand New and genuinely period correct and original, this CLK 55 presents extremely well throughout. Obsidian Black paint is deep and straight, complemented by the factory AMG monoblock wheels and understated body addenda that mark this as the real thing, not a badge-engineered CLK230.

Inside, Grey leather trim and the factory sunroof round out a cabin that has clearly been looked after, with good service history and 2 keys on hand to back it up.

As always with YTG, this vehicle will be sold with a New WOF, 1 Years Rego, Up-To-Date Servicing, and a Full Tank of Fuel.
