1976 Ferrari 308GTB Coupe - Very Rare & Highly Collectable - Vetroresina/Dry Sump Fiberglass Body - 1 of ONLY 40 RHD examples ever built.

We are very honoured to offer you the rare opportunity to acquire one of the most coveted Ferrari's from the 70's in this stunning concourse 1976 Ferrari 308GTB "Vetroresina" or "Dry Sump & Fiberglass" body. A very rare and highly sought after example which was U.K delivered new by Ferrari Concessionaires of London on July 1976 to a Mr F G Cambellton. A matching numbers example with all her original tool kits, workshop manuals, books, original leather wallet and an original Ferrari sales catalogue of the time come with the sale. With ONLY 712 Vetroresina cars built and fewer then 150 RHD cars made with ONLY 40 cars built with both fiberglass body and dry sump engine so makes this a very rare and highly collectable Ferrari for any global collection. Build #31 so a very early production car with ONLY 12,400mls from new with documented ownership history from new with ONLY 3 owners in total with 2 being here in Australia. The original sales order from new is also included with her original documentation with original photos when partial restored in the UK by first owner and also has spent over 8 years on display in the Bridgnorth Motor Museum in England before being fully restored mechanically by Ferrari renowned specialist Mr Nick Cart wright. Personally imported to Australia by her previous custodian in the 1990's and in 2018 -2020 the current custodian commissioned her for a total restoration mechanically and exterior BUT the factory Sabbia leather cabin is still the original untouched cabin apart from new Ferrari period correct carpet set. Original factory 14' Campagnolo alloys with period correct Michelin tyres all round complete this epic and covted Ferrari 308GTB V, this will win any Ferrari concourse or classic car show for authenticity, period correct and pedigree alone.

The "Pininfarina" styled 308GTB was designed to compete with Porsche for sports car significance and off course sales and the 308 V in the model line up over the years was proved to be one of the most significant and defined Ferrari's racing and showed Italy's flair and passion at the time. Released at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 as a supplement for the Dino 308GT4 and was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who was responsible for some of Ferrari's most iconic and celebrated shapes. This would have to be one of the most stunning examples in the world and being an early build even more desired with the dry sump lubricant and has the single distributor, hotter cams, single outlet exhaust and with the dry sump allowed the cars centre of gravity much lower for better handling.

The earlier 308 V cars were built for the UK and Euro market with more performance focused which reflected Ferrari's motorsport heritage and engineering to the core. The lightweight body enhanced the 308's overall performance with much sharper handling, reduced weight, a far more raw and visceral driving experience infused with Maranello's DNA they have now become highly revered as collector grade icons the "crown jewel" for 308 lineages. A benchmark example on a global scale for rarity, originality, provenance are all the hallmarks of value. This is an investment grade Ferrari for generations to come and for the first time been brough to the public after private collections for the past 40+ years and with ONLY 12,400mls would have to be one of the lowest if not the lowest documented 308GTB V's in the world.
