This amazing example is finished in a special order colour combination of Metallic Anthracite Grey (very rare) with soft Black Nappa Leather cabin.

This era in motoring will never be repeated, so these overengineered SL55's have become highly sought after. The iconic AMG "Sledgehammer" was the "fastest automatic/convertible" in the world at the time of production and this "F1 Edition" with the optional "P-30 Performance Package" (not available in Australia) was used as the official F1 Safety Car during 05/06 F1 seasons. These amazing luxury supercars were the pinnacle from AMG and shared many features/parts with both the SL/R McLaren/CLKDTM of the time including that iconic "M113K" for Kompressor or Supercharger. This special example received extra AMG "fettling" which allowed the F1 Edition to hit 190mph/305kmh (150mph standard).

She features the iconic, world first, fully retractable electric hard top - retracting in 15 secs all with a touch of the button. Totally original, as she left Affalterbach, with her special P-30 Performance Package, it features lightweight 19" split alloys, an AMG performance LSD, larger discs on front with bigger calipers and an uprated cooling system incorporated into the front bumper with extra vents.

The interior received a higher grade nappa leather, a carbon fibre driving zone and a DTM style alcantara/leather steering wheel with metal F1 shift paddles. Overall, this beautiful SL55 is perfect for any "Young Timers" collection and would suit any astute car collector for future desirability. These AMG's 113K 5.5L, with her supercharged engine, are now cult status amongst car collectors globally and were being used in the CLKDTM, SLR McLaren and CLK GTR.
